In 2023, Camper Sean West from Homestead High School was named as the winner of the Kevin Stemke Award as Wisconsin’s top senior kicker or punter.  Sean is now on the Wisconsin Badgers roster and competing for a starting spot as a freshman kicker. Good luck, Sean! Can’t wait to see you in Camp Randall!

5 Campers on the Watchlist

The Wisconin Sports Network (WSN) puts out a pre-season watchlist of seniors to follow for the Kevin Stemke Award.

Kevin Stemke was a great Green Bay Preble kicker and punter who had a fantastic career as a punter for the Wisconsin Badgers. As a punter, Stemke won the top collegiate award (the Ray Guy Award) in 2000. He was later inducted into the Badger Hall of Fame in 2018.

We had over 120 kickers attend our camps this past summer and honestly, a few more of our campers should be listed here. That said, we’re proud of the five who made the watch list and are in the running to be named the Stemke Award winner.

The Stemke Award is given to the top senior high school kicker or punter in the state of Wisconsin, by WSN (The Wisconsin Sports Network). High school coaches submit one of their specialists to WSN if they think he should be considered for the honor.

The award winner is to be named after the first week of WIAA divisional playoffs. Good luck to all of these kickers and punters!

Watchlist Campers

Grayden Barum / Cochrane-Fountain City

Grayden attended our Eau Claire Kickers Camp when he was just a sophomore. He plays WR/CB and is an excellent high jumper, too — clearing 6’4″!

Keegan Fredrick / Marshfield

Keegan came to our Sparta camp this past summer. His striking ability is exceptional and we’re hoping to see his team in the playoffs this year.

Luke Gilbertson / Oconto Falls

Luke signed up to attend our Appleton camp this past summer, but due to a conflict was unable to make it. Sorry we missed you, Luke! Good luck to you and the Panthers!

Daniel Karlin / Two Rivers

Daniel attended our 2023 Appleton camp a year ago as a junior and is now the Friday Night kicker for the Purple Raiders.

Keaton Knous / Port Washington

Keaton has been to multiple camps and has also had a few 1-on-1 sessions with Coach Farley as a kicker and punter for the Pirates.

Coach Farley Adds 3 More Seniors to Watch

Dietrich Eich / Prescott

Dietrich attended our Eau Claire and River Falls camps this past summer. His big kickoffs will certainly help his Cardinal team this Fall.

Jack Klundt / Neenah

Jack is another tall kicker with a big leg and will be a force for the Rockets this year. He attended our Plymouth camp this summer and should be on the Stemke watchlist.

Hunter Sprangers / Kimberly

Hunter came to our Appleton camp, is 6’7 and has a booming leg. He’s new to kicking — probably why he’s off the list. Don’t be surprised to see him kicking in the Div.1 Championship game this season!

Are you interested to be a nominee for the 2025 Stemke Award?
If you are a junior specialist this year and think that you should be considered for next year’s award — talk to your head coach at the end of this season about getting nominated.

Last year we also had 3 campers on the Stemke Semi-Finals Top 20 list… Gabe Golbach (Wausau West), Domanick Knott (G-E-T) and Sean West (Homestead).
